In-office procedures are outpatient services performed right in our office. Some help Dr. Patterson diagnose or monitor gynecologic conditions, while others provide treatment in a minimally invasive way. Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP)
LEEP is used to remove abnormal tissue from the cervix and, if needed, test it for cancer. Often recommended after an abnormal Pap test and colposcopy, the procedure takes about 20 minutes with a recovery period of roughly four weeks.
Colposcopy
A colposcopy is a diagnostic exam that allows Dr. Patterson to closely examine the cervix for precancerous or cancerous cells using a magnifying instrument called a colposcope. This procedure is typically recommended after abnormal Pap or HPV results.
Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy allows Dr. Patterson to view the inside of your uterus using a thin, lighted camera inserted through the vagina. This minimally invasive procedure can identify and treat causes of abnormal bleeding, including polyps, fibroids, and adhesions. It's often used for heavy menstrual bleeding, irregular spotting, or postmenopausal bleeding.
